A detour around the rock

Sometimes you just have to go with the flow, or in the case, change your plans when you run into 20+ cows that really didn't want to move out of the shade and were blocking the path along the river just north of Low Laithe. I know that I could get through them, but they looked very comfortable and I really didn't want to have an issue with a mad cow at 9 AM. So, I changed my plans and wound up on this wonderful walk instead.

Brimham Rocks is a natural feature of cool rocks at the top of the hill across the dale from our home, and is the furthest north point on this map. It is often seen in the tv program "All creatures great and small". I walked the outer perimeter path and took a few pictures on my jaunt. The belted galloway is being used for invasive grass/plant/tree control on the moor/parkland.

This weekend the British motorcross association was having their trials at the park. That is going to be one very technical ride in streches as the riders need to negotiate the rocks and the 20% incline.
